Mr. Heintz

I was born and raised in Kalamazoo, Michigan. After High School I attended and graduated from Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Science degree. After graduation I lived in the Los Angeles area for two years where I began working as a Computer Operator at Hughes Aircraft Corporation. After moving back to Michigan working other jobs in the Information Technology field, I decided to go back to school to go into teaching. I attended Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, and was awarded my Teaching Certificate. I got my first teaching job, for the Climax-Scotts Community School District, teaching computer classes only at first, in an Adult and Alternative Education program. I then taught many other classes as well. After working at this position for 7 years, I was able to get my current position here at Chesterton Middle School, where I am in my 6th year.

I enjoy coaching tennis, travel, movies, music, spending time with my family, Michigan State athletics, the beach, and physical fitness.

I am excited to be teaching technology at CMS. I taught science for many years, but recently received Project Lead the Way training to teach our pre-engineering technology class and medical detectives class. These are hands-on, applied science classes that allow students an opportunity to solve real-world type problems. I graduated with degrees from Valparaiso University and Purdue University. I have coached many extra-curricular activities but am currently involved with Science Olympiad and Cross-Country.

I enjoy following the interests of my 3 children, science, technology, fitness, recipes, & music.

I graduated from Indiana Wesleyan University with my Bachelors in Business Administration. I then went on to receive my teaching license through the American College of Education. I previously have taught for Victory Christian Academy in Valparaiso as their Business/Technology teacher. I also worked for Pierce Middle School in Merrillville as their Preparing for College and Careers teacher.

In my time outside of school, I love to spend it with my son (Leo) and my husband (Josh). We are very big into boating and being outdoors. We are an active family but also enjoy our down time together!
