DSC Library Media Specialists provide instruction and support to students and staff on a wide variety of digital resources. Using ebook and audiobook providers like Sora allows Media Specialists to ensure that students have equitable access to popular titles for pleasure reading, regardless of learning model or location. Our elementary and intermediate Media Specialists also provide direct instruction to students using programs like Code.org to prepare them for the Computer Science portions of state tests. Additionally, Library Media Specialists at all levels guide students through the research process and teach them about the ethical use of reliable resources such as books and age-appropriate databases. Technology instruction necessitates conversations about safe, responsible use, so all our DSC Media Specialists use Common Sense Media's Digital Citizenship Curriculum as the foundation for their "DigCit" lessons.
Students should be able to access all necessary digital resources via their Canvas and/or Clever accounts. If your student is experiencing any login, access, or other technological issues, please contact the DSC IT department.
