    The Junior Varsity WINTER GUARD is looking for new members. Come to the Main Office to get your information packet!  The Guard performs flag routines that you see during football games.  Winter Guard performs inside with flags and dance to recorded music.  The Main Office has information packets and first practice will be on Tuesday, Nov. 7.


    "On November 10, CMS will be hosting the 50th Veterans Day Program.  We will have a fundraiser to raise money for Folds of Honor, a program that helps provide disabled and deceased veterans' children with an opportunity for a college education.  

    Here are the details:  A collection can will be placed in your first hour teacher's classroom.  The class that raises the most money between October 30 and November 8, will earn a doughnut party."


    The Main Office has information for the 2017 CHS Cheer Stunt & Tumble Clinic.  The camp will be Monday, 11/6/17, 4:00-6:00, CHS Fieldhouse

    (entr. 31). A fee of $35.00 is for camp and a T-Shirt. 

    Picture retakes are scheduled for Friday, Oct. 20th.  You will need to pick up a form from the Main Office if you plan on having retakes.  Remember on the day of retakes, you will need to return your original set.


    Powder Puff will meet in East Gym at 7:00am on Thursday. 


     There is a Costume Dance Friday, October 20th from 6pm-8pm. Prizes will be given to the best dressed costumes. Categories include: scariest, funniest, most creative as well as group. 

    Tickets will be on sale Tuesday-Friday outside the auditorium for $3. 

    Pizza, pop and chips will be available for purchase as well. 


     Japanese Club will be meeting on Wed.,10/18, from 3-4.  The theme is “Kimono”, Japanese traditional outfit.  You’ll learn about Kimono and try it on.  If you have one, you are welcomed to bring it.  Any questions, see Tsugawa Sensei.



    Boys basketball tryouts will be on Oct. 18 and 19 in Golds Gym:

     Times are as follows:  

    8th grade boys will be Oct. 18 & 19 from from 3:15-5:15 in Golds Gym;

    ​7th grade boys will be Oct. 18 & 19 from from 5:15-7:15  in Golds Gym.​

     ​You MUST have a completed set of athletic forms turned into the athletic office before you will be eligible to try out.  No one will be allowed to try out without these forms!!  ​Please see Mrs. Hunsley in the Main Office with any questions.  



    Art Club every Wednesday until may 9th.


    Book Battle students meet every Thursday morning in the media center at 7:30


    Chess club will meet Monday mornings in the media center at 7:30. First meeting will be September 11th



    ASL Club meets Weekly from 3pm to 4pm on Monday, Sep 18 to Mon Apr 30, 2018


    Book & Table top games meet on Monday after school in the Media Center. Pick up time is 4:00

     Robotics meets  on Tuesday and Thursday in the upstairs lecture hall. Pick up time is 4:30

    CMS ” A” Football team took on the Brickies of Hobart yesterday in their final game of the season. The final score was Chesterton 27 Hobart 6.  

     As a team we did our job!  We ended the season on a great note.

    The Main Office has a stack of umbrellas left at the dance on Friday night.  If you think one might be yours, please come to the M.O. asap.

    Attention students:  if you pre-ordered a CMS yearbook, you will be receiving it during SRT today. If you did not pre-order, you will have the opportunity to purchase a book for $35 cash or check made out to CMS. You may purchase books for one day only, Wednesday. An announcement will be made calling student to the auditorium lobby during 2nd period for students who wish to purchase a book. Don't miss out on this one and only chance to purchase your 2017 yearbook!

    Notre Dame is offering a one week DNA summer science camp.  Camp is for current 7th & 8th grade students.  Dates available for camp are June 25-30 & July 9-14.  Come to the Main Office for more information.


     Westchester Township History Museum will be sponsoring a “Mystery History Camp”.  This camp is free with many fun activities during the day.  Registration is open until May 31st, camp begins July 11-14, 9:00-12:00, Ages 12-16.  Come to the Main Office for more information.

    Chesterton Park Department has sent information about the 2017 Summer Youth Tennis Program.  Information will be available in the Main Office.

    Chesterton H.S. baseball will be hosting a baseball camp this summer for boys entering 3rd-8th grade in the upcoming year.  Camp will take place July 10-12.  The cost is $50.00 and must be returned with the form to the CMS Main Office.  Forms are available in the Main Office.
    CHS Athletic Department is sponsoring physicals for next year’s 7–12. On June 5th, CMS Students and incoming freshman should attend.  Physicals will run from 6-8, door opening at 5:30.  Please remember to stop by the Main Office and get a physical form before attending.
      The Main Office has received CHS Volleyball Camp registration forms.  Session Two is for students in 7-8 grade.  The camp is June 12-15, at the CHS Fieldhouse.  Come to the Main Office if you are interested.
