    WELLS SCHOLARS PROGRAM (INDIANA UNIVERSITY)
    REQUIREMENTS -The Wells Scholars Program uses a nomination rather than an application process for the selection of Scholars. Chesterton High School will nominate 2 students.
    -Past successful nominees have typically:
         1) Shown exceptional qualities of character and leadership
         2) Been significantly involved in extracurricular activities
         3) Demonstrated a concern for their community
         4) Excelled in terms of class rank, GPA, and/or standardized test scores
         5) Expressed interest in joining a community of scholarly individuals with
             diverse interests beyonD a pre-professional track
    DO I HAVE TO ATTEND A SPECIFIC COLLEGE/UNIVERSITY? Yes, must attend Indiana University Bloomington.
    SCHOLARSHIP AMOUNT  Guarantees the full cost of attendance for a period of eight semesters of undergraduate study at Indiana University Bloomington.

    DAUGHTERS OF THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION GOOD CITIZEN PROGRAM AND SCHOLARSHIP AWARD
    REQUIREMENTS -Open to young women and young men who are high school seniors
    -Must be enrolled in a public or private school accredited by the State Board of Education
    -United States citizenship is not required
    -Nominee should have the following qualities:
       1) Dependability (truthfulness, honesty, punctuality, etc)
       2) Service (cooperation, helpfulness, responsibility, etc)
       3) Leadership (personality, self-control, initiative, etc)
       4) Patriotism (unselfish loyalty to American ideals)
    -CHS can nominate 1 student. That chosen student will have to submit a timed, supervised essay during the week of October 26th.
    DO I HAVE TO ATTEND A SPECIFIC COLLEGE/UNIVERSITY? No, you may attend any public or private university, college or trade school
    SCHOLARSHIP AMOUNT  $150 - If your essay reaches the national level competition, you could win $5,000.

    REQUIREMENTS -Must be a senior during the 2020-2021 school year and graduate with the class of 2021
    -Must have a cumulative GPA of a B (3.0) or better
    -Must participate or have participated in grades 9, 10, or 11 in at least one of the 48 sports recognized by the International Olympic Committee in the Summer and Winter Olympic Games or the National Federation of State High School Association and sponsored by your school
    -Must be a leader in school and in the community and serve as a role model for underclassmen
