    Visiting Nurse Association Foundation Tricia’s Scholarship

     

    Requirements:

    • Applicant must be able to provide evidence of application to a nursing education program to be considered

     Ronald McDonald House Charities U.S. Scholarships

    4 different scholarships offered:

    • RMHC/Scholars-Open to all students
    • RMHC/Asia-Applicants must have at least 1 parent of Asian-Pacific heritage
    • RMHC/African-American Future Achievers-Applicants must have at least 1 parent of African-American or Black Caribbean heritage
    • RMHC/HACER-Applicants must have at least 1 parent of Hispanic/Latino heritage

    Requirements:

    • Have a minimum GPA of 2.5
    • Pursuing a degree or certification in specific areas of agriculture; human nutrition; food services; hospitality; communications; marketing; public relations; journalism; statistics; mathematics; engineering; bioinformatics; computer science; rural sociology; livestock management; turf management; welding; diesel mechanics; food packaging; animal breeding and genetics; and vet medicine or science.
    • Must be a high school senior
    • Must be endorsed by 2 farmers

    Scholarship Amount: $1,500

    NEW!! Nancy Jaynes Memorial Scholarship

    Requirements:

    • Must be a current senior
    • Must have a parent currently battling breast cancer or who has lost a parent to breast cancer
    • Have a cumulative high school GPA of 2.8 on a 4.0 scale.

    Scholarship Amount: Up to $1,500

    NEW!! Indiana Association of Educational Office Professionals Scholarship

    Requirements:

    • Must be planning on continuing his/her education in an office-related career
    • Must have completed 2 or more business educational courses, 4 semesters within 4 years of high school from among the following: computer programming, accounting, finance business (management, law, co-op, etc), computer science, or classes comparable to these courses

    Scholarship Amount: $1,000

    Anderson Foundation Scholarship

    Requirements:

    • Must be a resident of Lake or Porter County, Indiana and a citizen of the United States as of January 1, 2107
    • Senior in high school as of September 2017
    • Must plan on enrolling full time at an accredited public/private university in the Fall of 2017
    • Must have a minimum weighted GPA of 3.25; ACT of 21 or SAT score of 1050. Community service and school involvement is heavily weighted.
    • Selection based on academic performance, demonstrated leadership skills, service to others, character, essay, demonstrated financial aid (based on FAFSA), and interview

    Scholarship Amount: $10,000/year - $40,000 in total

    The Coolidge Scholarship

    Requirements:

    • Must be a current high school JUNIOR
    • Plan to enroll in college in the fall of 2019
    • Must be an American citizen or legal permanent resident
    • The main criterion that distinguishes Coolidge Scholars is academic excellence. Secondary criteria include: demonstrated interest in public policy; an appreciation for the values Coolidge championed; as well as humility, service, and leadership.

    Scholarship Amount: Full-ride scholarship which covers a student’s tuition, room, board, and expenses for 4 years of undergraduate study.

    Jim & Betty Dye Scholarship

    Requirements:

    • Minimum combined 1650 (old SAT), 1100 (new SAT), or 24 ACT
    • Minimum GPA of 3.25
    • Must attend Indiana University (Bloomington), Indiana University Northwest (IUN), Purdue University West Lafayette (PU), Purdue University Northwest (PNW), Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI), or Ball State University (BSU)
    • Must be a U.S. citizen

     

    Do I have to attend a specific college or university? Yes, you must be accepted and plan on attending one of the schools listed above.

    Scholarship Amount: $750-$3750/semester

    Kankakee Valley R.E.M.C. Round Up Scholarships

    Requirements:

    • Parent or guardian must be a consumer of the Kankakee Valley REMC and participate in Operation Round Up
    • Must write an essay of 50 to 500 words on how they would distribute grant money if they were an Operation Round Up board director
    • Must be a high school senior
    • Must be involved in their community, church, work, or a school activity
    • Have one to three letter of recommendation and a copy of school transcripts

    Scholarship Amount: $1,000 – 2,000

    First Trust Credit Union Scholarship (Bachelor’s Degree)

    Requirements:

    • Must be a member of First Trust Credit Union
    • Graduate from an accredited high school and be pursuing a four-year degree at a college or university
    • Scholastic achievement
    • Involvement in school and community activities
    • Essay
    • Letter of recommendation from a teacher

    Duneland Resale, Inc. Volunteer Services Scholarship

    Requirements:

    • Must be a current senior
    • Must have volunteered within the Duneland Community

    Do I have to attend a specific college or university? No, you may attend any accredited college, university, or technical trade school.

    Scholarship Amount: $1,000 and renewable for up to 3 years

    Alberico Scholarship Foundation

    Requirements:

    • Senior student in the top 20% of graduating class and a minimum GPA of 3.0
    • Must show evidence of participation in extracurricular activities, community service, or other leadership activities within their school
    • Must answer an essay question
    • Must have a letter of recommendation from two teachers
    • Must demonstrate a financial need

    Scholarship Amount: $2,500 award

    Zach Gives Back Scholarship

    Requirements:

    • Applicant must be a student enrolled at Purdue University Northwest
    • Applicant must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 (attach an official copy of transcript to application)
    • Applicant must be studying computer science or computer engineering as a major
    • Applicant must write a brief summary of anything that will provide a more complete picture of yourself including your personal aspirations, career, and educational goals (no more than a thousand words)

    Do I have to attend a specific college or university? Yes, must attend Purdue Northwest.

    Scholarship Amount: $1,000 for the school year
