Mrs. Ana-Maria Haiduc
Academic Interventionist (Mathematics)
I graduated College of Mathematics in Romania teaching Algebra and Geometry to students in secondary school. In the United States, as a home mom, I improved my English and passed the examination to obtain a mathematics teaching license for grades 5-12. The license allowed me to extend my experience to four more years teaching secondary students at New Vistas High School in Portage. I later transitioned to teach college students at Purdue Northwest, Ivy Tech, and Purdue West Lafayette, where I currently work on my Ph.D. in mathematics education with a focus on teachers' curricular decisions concerning students' cognitive mathematical processes. In my free time, I enjoy learning languages. My new interest is in Hebrew because I was curious about how my brain will adjust to reading from right to left. Besides English, I enjoyed learning Italian (fluent), German (basic), and Spanish (comprehend). Other hobbies include playing mandolin, gardening, family game boards, and cooking.

Mr. Patrick Moody
Academic Interventionist (English)/Credit Recovery
I began my teaching career as an English teacher at Culver Academies in 1989 after leaving the US Army where I served honorably as a medic. I then taught English at Portage High School for almost thirty years and directed theatre and coached Special Olympics basketball there. I retired in 2020 but quickly became bored and especially missed working with teenagers. I've been at Chesterton High School since 2020 and work with students as an Academic Interventionist in English. Away from work, I enjoy hiking, motorcycling, live music, reading, and spending time with my family and our three dogs.
