After four wonderful years of Chesterton High School, highlighted by performing in Drifters and Sandpipers, becoming the Lady of the House in the Madrigal my senior year, and most importantly, meeting (and later marrying) my highschool sweetheart, I attended Purdue University to become a proud Boilermaker! I earned a degree in Elementary Education, a minor in Reading, and a Kindergarten endorsement. With the exception of one year of teaching 6th grade in Memphis, TN right after getting married, all sixteen years of my teaching experience have been in the Duneland Schools in grades K-5. This is my eighth year of teaching 2nd grade. After teaching little ones all day, I go home to my own older children. I have a son who is studying music at IU and a daughter who is about to go to DePauw in the fall. When I have free time, I like to spend it visiting with family and friends, making crafts, painting, reading, and walking our dog.

After I graduated from Grand Valley State University in 2019, I worked for Valparaiso Community Schools which led me to my current career path as an educator. I completed my student teaching in April and graduated from the American College of Education's Transition to Teaching program in May. I am so excited to start my teaching journey with Duneland Schools. Having been attending Duneland Schools all my life, it has been so fulfilling teaching second grade at Bailly. I am so happy to be a part of the team and am so thrilled for the years to come! When I have free time, I like to use it on spending time with family and friends, reading, watching 80's movies and chilling with my dog!

I graduated from Indiana University in Bloomington with a marketing degree and worked in the business field for almost 10 years.  Nothing ever seemed like a good fit for me until I decided to go back to school for teaching to pursue my passion.  I was a kindergarten and third grade instructional aide at Yost for a year and have been a kindergarten teacher at Bailly since 2011.  In my free time, I love doing arts and crafts, camping with my family, hiking, skiing, biking, and if I have the chance, relaxing on the couch and watching a movie!

After attending Purdue University in West Lafayette, I taught Kindergarten at Jackson Elementary for a year.  I then moved to Bailly Elementary and taught 4th grade for 6 years. During that time, I went to school for a Master's Degree in Education.  I moved down to 2nd grade andI have been teaching there for 26 years. When I am not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family.  I love playing golf when the weather is nice, and reading.  I also love doing jigsaw puzzles.  I enjoy riding on my Pelaton bike and going for walks.  My passion is writing children's poetry and I hope one day to publish a children's poetry book.
