Amy is a graduate of both the University of Northern Iowa and the University of Iowa, and she has been an elementary educator for eight years. As an educator, she has experience in both rural public school settings and urban public charter settings, and she has proudly taken on the roles of general education teacher, special education teacher, at-risk teacher, and team leader. She believes in the power of family engagement and prioritizes family and school partnerships in her work. Her graduate level courses helped her develop a passion for equitable access to learning opportunities in Early Childhood Education, which has led her to her current work as Duneland's Early Learning Co-Coordinator. Amy resides in Chesterton with her husband and daughter.
