Description of Work

  • The proposed work at the high school includes:

A - Renovations and additions to the Performing Arts wing of the building (northeast side) that will increase large group ensemble room square feet, ceiling height and acoustical treatments, establish a new entrance and create a separate loading area to accommodate travel considerations.

B - A new addition on the southeast part of the building that will house competitive Robotics teams. Currently, Robotics teams are at the elementary, intermediate and middle level, without any space at the high school to accommodate this emerging program as students enter the high school. New project-based lab space will also be developed in the area that currently houses the weight room.

C & D - Field house expansion that will create a separate gymnastics venue. This will allow the field house to be accessible for physical education classes and extra-curricular activities during the winter months when groups are unable to go outside. A new performance lab will also be developed that will house weight equipment, cardio and life fitness equipment, and small and large group activities.

E - New main gym bleachers and mezzanine access to the south side upper balcony. Currently, the only way to access the gym deck balcony is to pull out and walk up the lower bleachers.

1 - Expanded parking and outer drive on the south side of the school.

2 - Improvements to soccer, baseball, softball, tennis, and marching band practice and competition venues that may include bleachers, lighting, storage, playing surfaces, restroom access and concessions. The goal is to take steps so all high school students have access for practice and competition at the conclusion of the school day on the high school campus.
