The Chesterton High School Science Olympiad team recently competed in the State tournament at Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana. The team won 11th place overall. Members are front, left to right, Dayna Gallo and Patrick Teall. Back, Galen Wong, Autumn Miller, Addison Dempsay, Sara Filipek, Matt Petrovich, Eric Dreischerf, Logan Krantz, Jon Vincent and Maryssa Engstrom.  Absent from the photo are Alex Hughes, Alex Hanson, Matt Jones, Chris Maatouk and Eric Zhong.

 

Placing in team events at state were Eric Dreischerf and Logan Krantz with a first (state champs) in Gravity Vehicle and fourth in Robot Arm, and Alex Hanson and Autumn Miller with a fourth in Rocks and Minerals. Science Olympiad team coaches are Kim Stahura and Jack Neuliep.
