Brummitt Elementary provides programs that are research based to improve the written language skill for all students, and at all grade and ability levels. Specifically, Brummitt staff and students will be using Write Traits to improve student writing across the curriculum areas. An additional focus of open-ended math response was added as part of Brummitt’s School Improvement plan starting the 2007-2008 school year.
An active Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) provides support services and assistance with school curriculum programs. The PTO hosts a number of social functions, the promoting of positive social interactions, participation, and involvement among the parents, and staff, and helping to solidify the school and home environments into a team unit as both visitors and helpers. They help in the office, classrooms, the media center, at special events such as field days, field trips, and read-a-thons. A daily Parent Volunteer Program has been organized to assist with these projects. To learn more about Brummitt Elementary, please explore the links on this site.
