The eighth annual International Baccalaureate Advanced Art Exhibit took place April 12-14 in the upper gym of CHS. It was open to the public from 5:30 to 8 p.m. on April 12 and 13 and attended by many community members, parents, families, faculty, and students.
This year's event was titled "Something from Nothing" and is based on the concept that a work begins where nothing first exists. By the time artists have spent time thinking, researching, molding the thoughts and plans, and moved into the actual "doing" part, the final result is that they have created an exceptional work of art that actually communicates with the viewer.
There were 19 participants in this year's event, and each individually created gallery was a work of art in and of itself. Shannon Quartuch is a senior IB art student. These are the juniors in the IB program who will be showcasing their work again in the spring of 2017: Kaili Burton, Autumn Nelson, Elaina Nichols, Castulo Perez, Natalie Stemler, James Van Drie, Renae Warren.
